The Karnataka Skill Development Corp. will host the first edition of the Bengaluru Skill Summit 2025 from Nov. 4 to 6 at The Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru, aiming to position the state as a global hub for workforce innovation and skill development excellence.

The event, organized by the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood, will focus on “Workforce 2030: Scale, Systems, Synergy,” reflecting the state’s strategy to expand job opportunities, improve skill systems and enhance stakeholder collaboration.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the summit in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar and Skill Development Minister Sharanaprakash R. Patil.

International guests include Mauritius Minister of Labour Muhammad Reza Cassam Uteem, German Ambassador Philipp Ackermann and Coursera Managing Director for India and Asia-Pacific Ashutosh Gupta.

A key session on Nov. 5 will focus on “Convergence of Education, Skills & Industry for a Trillion USD Economy by 2032.” It will bring together ministers M. B. Patil, Priyank Kharge, M. C. Sudhakar and Sharanaprakash Patil, alongside industry experts.

The discussion will explore how aligning education and skill development with industrial growth can accelerate India’s economic expansion.

The summit will feature Skillathon 2025, a national innovation challenge for students and the “Kaushalya Karnataka Awards,” recognizing corporate and institutional contributions to inclusive workforce growth.

In addition, the Skill Expo Pavilion will display cutting-edge training technologies and EdTech solutions. Participants can also attend masterclasses, policy roundtables, and networking sessions.

The event will conclude with “Karnataka Vaibhava,” a cultural showcase celebrating the state’s heritage.

Focus on Future-Ready Skills

Sessions will address four key areas: innovation in skilling, inclusion of women and gig workers, global employability and readiness for emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and green jobs.

“Our priority is to build a skilling framework that is inclusive, industry-aligned, and globally benchmarked,” said Minister Sharanaprakash Patil in a statement. “The Bengaluru Skill Summit reflects Karnataka’s determination to lead India into the next era of workforce development.”

Dr. Gayathri Vasudevan, Chairperson of LabourNet Services, added that the summit aims to connect technology and talent to ensure that skill-building translates into meaningful employment.

Building a Global Workforce

With Germany as the country partner and Karnataka Digital Economy Mission as the knowledge partner, the summit seeks to foster international collaborations, certification programs, and language training to prepare workers for overseas opportunities.

Delegates from industries including aerospace, agriculture, healthcare, and software will explore innovations and form partnerships to strengthen Karnataka’s position as a global skill development powerhouse.

Participants can register to join the event from Nov. 4 to 6 at The Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru.
