Siemens Achieves Record Score, Platinum Medal in 2025 EcoVadis Rating
Siemens ranks in top 1% globally with record EcoVadis score, highlighting strong sustainability performance across operations
Siemens has earned a Platinum medal and its highest-ever score in the 2025 EcoVadis Sustainability Rating, placing it among the top 1 percent of about 130,000 companies assessed globally, the German industrial group said on Monday.
The Munich-based company scored 85 points in the evaluation, surpassing its previous best performance. The Platinum medal is the highest recognition granted by EcoVadis, which assesses companies in areas including environment, ethics, labor and human rights, and sustainable procurement.
Siemens Mobility, assessed separately, achieved a score of 84 points.
Sustainability Focus
Siemens said more than 90 percent of its business contributes to positive sustainability outcomes in decarbonization and energy efficiency, resource efficiency and circularity, and people-centric and societal impact.
The company cut carbon dioxide emissions from its own operations by 60 percent since 2019, exceeding its interim target a year ahead of schedule.
The engineering giant aims for a 55 percent reduction by 2025 and 90 percent by 2030, targeting net-zero operations by 2030 and a net-zero supply chain by 2050.
“Achieving the highest-ever score and being among the top one percent of all rated companies reinforces our position as a sustainability leader and recognizes the dedication of our people,” Eva Riesenhuber, Siemens’ global head of sustainability, said in a statement.
Rigorous Standards
Siemens Mobility’s head of sustainability, Andreas Mehlhorn, said the recognition reflected the unit’s commitment to integrating sustainable solutions and maintaining rigorous standards across operations and supply chains.
The company also reported substantial progress supporting customers in decarbonizing their own infrastructure and operations, enabling an estimated 173 million metric tons of customer emissions avoided over the lifetime of products sold in fiscal 2024.
EcoVadis ratings are based on international sustainability standards, including the 10 Principles of the U.N. Global Compact, International Labour Organization conventions, Global Reporting Initiative standards and ISO 26000 guidelines.
