Hexaware Technologies Ltd. has earned a gold sustainability rating from EcoVadis, ranking among the top 5 percent of companies worldwide, the Indian IT services provider said on Thursday.
Hexaware’s overall score rose to 82 from 70 last year, lifting its rating from silver to gold and placing it in the 98th percentile of more than 150,000 companies assessed by EcoVadis in the past 12 months.
The rating reflects stronger evidence of policy, action and measurable results across key areas of sustainability, the company said.
Strengthened Oversight and Practices
The Mumbai-based firm stated that it enhanced board oversight, established clearer ownership structures, and implemented stricter evidence controls and independent reviews to improve its sustainability program.
Measures included embedding low-carbon operations, protecting labor and human rights, enforcing data protection and ethics and adopting responsible procurement practices.
“EcoVadis is a benchmark our clients trust,” said Uma Thomas, chief risk officer at Hexaware. “This top 5 percent gold sustainability rating recognizes progress in how we manage impact, protect people, uphold ethics and run lower-carbon operations. We will build on it with clearer targets, better measurement and steady, practical improvements.”
EcoVadis Assessment Methodology
EcoVadis, a sustainability ratings platform, evaluates companies against 21 criteria across four themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
Its methodology integrates external checks and is used by more than 150,000 businesses worldwide.
Hexaware said it plans to deepen value-chain engagement, sharpen key performance indicator tracking, and undergo regular third-party benchmarking to maintain momentum and deliver measurable outcomes for customers and stakeholders.
Hexaware, which provides IT and business process services, operates globally with a focus on digital transformation at scale.
