L&T Technology Services said on Friday it had signed a multi-year membership agreement with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab to work on artificial intelligence-led innovation in mobility, sustainability and technology.

The deal positions L&T Technology Services, a global engineering and digital consulting company, to collaborate with one of the world’s most influential research institutions.

Driving Innovation Through AI

As a consortium member, LTTS will engage in research discussions and exchange ideas with the Media Lab’s cross-disciplinary ecosystem.

The partnership is expected to accelerate breakthroughs by combining LTTS’ expertise in AI and engineering with the Lab’s experimental research approach.

The companies plan to explore sustainability solutions ranging from smarter mobility systems to infrastructure designed for a greener future. LTTS also intends to study emerging fields such as agentic AI and early-stage artificial general intelligence applications.

Voices From Both Sides

“We are delighted to join the MIT Media Lab, a dynamic and creative interdisciplinary research sandbox,” said Amit Chadha, CEO and managing director of LTTS. “From exploring Agentic AI to AGI roadmaps, we are setting a course to shape the future of industries reliant on mobility, sustainability and tech.”

Jessica Rosenworcel, executive director of the MIT Media Lab, said the collaboration with LTTS “opens exciting opportunities to engage with AI, data, and design thinking in addressing real-world challenges.” She added that the partnership aims to “inspire meaningful impact at a global scale.”

Extending Industry Engagement

LTTS will also host its flagship events, including the Digital Engineering Awards and Advisory Council sessions, at the MIT Media Lab.

These gatherings will provide a platform for global R&D leaders to exchange knowledge and speed up technology adoption.

The company said these programs will support roadmap development, foster collaboration and accelerate industry-wide innovation.

Strengthening Global Footprint

For over four decades, the MIT Media Lab has pioneered research at the intersection of art, science, engineering, and design. LTTS’ entry into this environment highlights its push to expand sustainable and purposeful engineering innovation for its international clients.

Headquartered in India, L&T’s digital consulting arm works with 69 Fortune 500 companies and 57 of the world’s top engineering firms. As of June 30, 2025, it had more than 23,600 employees spread across 23 design centers, 30 sales offices and 105 innovation labs worldwide.
