HCLTech Strengthens Climate Action Commitment With $1M Grant Program
HCLTech expands its climate action efforts with $1 million in grants for innovative sustainability projects across the Americas.
HCLTech on Thursday announced the third edition of its Climate Action Grant in the Americas, pledging $1 million to support nonprofit organizations addressing the climate crisis across 10 countries.
The technology company launched the Americas program in 2023 with a $5 million, five-year commitment to fund scalable and sustainable climate action solutions.
This year’s grants will back three additional nonprofits in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru and the United States.
“The HCLTech Climate Action Grant in the Americas has received an overwhelming response from organizations bringing fresh thinking and deep local insight to environmental challenges,” said Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, senior vice president of global CSR at HCLTech.
Pundhir added, “Innovation and collaboration are key to shaping climate action. As we enter the next phase, we remain committed to partnering with changemakers creating sustainable solutions for their communities and beyond.”
Building on Early Impact
Over its first two years, HCLTech awarded $2 million to six nonprofits. The grants have already empowered more than 1,400 young people and educators, restored 88 acres of longleaf pine forest with over 50,000 trees and inspired more than 1,000 students to design sustainable communities.
HCLTech’s broader sustainability achievements have also drawn recognition. The company earned a ‘Gold’ rating from EcoVadis for advanced sustainability performance and featured in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2024 for the third straight year.
Additionally, 98 percent of its owned buildings hold ‘Platinum’ certification from the Green Building Councils.
Application Window Opens
The application portal opened Friday, coinciding with the International Day of Climate Action, and will remain open until Jan. 24, 2026. Winners will be announced on World Environment Day, June 5, 2026.
