Nasdaq, AirMiners Launch Online Carbon Education Platform
U.S. stock exchange Nasdaq and AirMiners team up to launch a free online course focused on carbon dioxide removal strategies.
Nasdaq has launched the Nasdaq Carbon Academy, a self-paced online educational platform designed to help individuals and companies understand and implement carbon dioxide removal strategies.
Developed in collaboration with AirMiners, the initiative aims to improve literacy around carbon markets and support corporate climate goals.
According to a press statement, the platform builds on the AirMiners Buyers Academy pilot, offering five interactive modules that guide participants from foundational concepts to advanced topics in carbon removal.
The content is designed to be accessible to professionals at all levels and is now available on Nasdaq’s website.
“With the launch of this platform, we aim to enhance awareness and education surrounding carbon markets,” said Fredrik Ekström, head of European product strategy and management at Nasdaq, and chairman of Puro.earth. “Nasdaq Carbon Academy provides comprehensive information, from basic to advanced levels, in an accessible and user-friendly format.”
Comprehensive Curriculum
The Carbon Academy comprises five modules: Introduction to Carbon Dioxide Removal, Core Carbon Dioxide Removal Concepts, Carbon Dioxide Removal Methodologies, Quality, Value, and Aligning Incentives, Budgeting, Portfolios and Contracting.
These modules cover technologies, market dynamics, credit portfolio development, and internal advocacy strategies. According to Nasdaq and AirMiners, the academy is aimed at sustainability professionals seeking to integrate CDR credits into their emissions reduction strategies.
Training the Next Generation of Climate Leaders
Tito Jankowski, CEO of AirMiners, said the program is designed to empower corporate sustainability leaders.
“We built this academy so sustainability leaders can go from curious to confident in carbon dioxide removal,” Jankowski said. “I’m excited for the Carbon Academy to support the next wave of sustainability leaders and their teams to take action on their sustainability goals.”
AirMiners, known as a hub and accelerator for carbon removal startups, brings its market expertise and educational experience to the course content. The collaboration reflects growing interest in CDR as companies seek science-based pathways to net-zero emissions.
The Nasdaq Carbon Academy is open to the public and free to access.
